Wickliffe Public Library hosting ‘The Maple Leaf Route’ author talk – News-Herald

Wickliffe Public Library will be hosting The Maple Leaf Route at 7 p.m., Jan. 18.

Attendees can enjoy a fun, intriguing, and picturesque journey as Dan Rager, author of “The Maple Leaf Route,” chronicles  the building of the railroad, according to a news release.

Before railroads were built, citizens, farmers, and commerce traveled north and south, away from Cleveland on dirt roads. The railroads made day trips possible, expanding  citizens’ opportunities for commerce, travel, and fun, the release noted.
