Women entrepreneurs urged on digital marketing

Women entrepreneurs in Nigeria have been urged to embrace digital platforms so as to improve and package their products in order to increase their online presence and access the global market space.

The Executive Director of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Dr Ezra Yakusak, made the call at a one-day programme on promoting women’s inclusiveness and empowerment through non-oil export held in Kano State.

Dr Yakusak, represented by the North West Coordinator of NEPC, Mr Salami M. A., said women were given preference as Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria were dominated by them.

He said, “There is a need for women to leverage on digitalisation, improve their business performance and become more resilient and competitive in the international market.”

He also urged the women to prepare digitally well in their export capacity building to face inherent challenges bedeviling the non-oil sector.
