As inflation in grocery stores rises and Michigan weather turns unforgiving, a local food pantry will help those in need ensure they have enough food.

The Midland County Emergency Food Pantry Network will be hosting a mobile food pantry network from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at the Midland Missionary Church, 479 South 11 Mile Road. They will be supplying free food to help supplement families’ pantries.

This is an emergency feeding program intended to provide a supplemental food source to families and/or individuals who are in need. This pantry will be on a first-come, first-served basis, with enough food for 250 households being distributed.

No identification or proof of income for food recipients will be necessary.

The network asks people to stay in their cars and maintain social distancing when arriving. Registration will be done in the cars before distribution, and volunteers will load food into the vehicles at the church.

People with questions or who have an ongoing or emergency need for food can connect with the regular pantry program by calling 989-486-9393.
