UNC Athletics, Veteran Services hosting Veterans Day events – Loveland Reporter-Herald

The University of Northern Colorado Athletic Department is helping with a run and meal distribution next month to support military members and their families.

UNC will host a Feed the Children meal distribution and Freedom 5K on Friday, Nov. 11 and Saturday, Nov. 12, respectively.

The meal distribution is a collaboration between UNC Athletics and Feed the Children. It will provide more than 800 food packages to military families. This will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The 5K is put on by UNC Veterans Services, which raises funds for the veteran scholarship program at the university. It begins at 9 a.m. at Roudebush Cottage and ends at the game day tailgate.

Military Appreciation games will be held on both days. Men’s basketball plays at 6 p.m. in Bank of Colorado Arena, while football plays at noon Saturday and volleyball plays at 7 p.m. Active duty military and veterans can receive a free ticket to each game with the code “military.”
