Cowboy BBQ Cook-off Entry Form
Prior to Oklahoma State’s kickoff against Iowa State on Nov. 12, OSU Athletics will host a Cowboy BBQ Cook-off as part of the Hall of Fame Block Party.
Participants will barbecue one pork butt each, courtesy of Rib Crib in Stillwater. Judges will assign scores based on the plates of food, with the three highest combined scores winning prizes for first, second and third place. Additional side dishes may be added to complement the pork dish, but the plate must include use of the pork butt.
A barbecue cook-off trophy will be given out to the first-place winner, while the second and third-place contestants will receive other prizes.
Barbecue locations will be in the south lanes of Hall of Fame Avenue between Washington Street and Knoblock Street north of Boone Pickens Stadium. Grills may be dropped off and set up between 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, or 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12.
Contestants must stay until at least 15 minutes following kickoff and have grills removed from Hall of Fame Avenue no later than one hour after completion of the game. As a reminder, OSU Athletics has a no re-entry policy, so if contestants decide to attend the game, they will not be able to leave the stadium and re-enter.
Entry forms for the cook-off can must be submitted to Detrick Bombarger at firstname.lastname@example.org by Saturday, Oct. 29, at midnight. Of note, OSU Athletics will select only 10-15 participants for the Cowboy BBQ Cook-off due to the limited amount of space. Potential participants will be informed by Monday, Oct. 31 if they are selected to participate or not.
