Having grown up in the furniture industry (his father, Mike Herschel, has been FMG’s executive director for more than 20 years), it was a natural fit for Michael to work in the industry, as well. He has been the buying group’s marketing coordinator since 2014.
In recent years, he has spearheaded FMG Digital, a digital marketing program that was developed in-house. It allows FMG members low-cost access to premier levels of Google, Microsoft and Facebook ad management and has been a key growth driver for many in FMG’s membership base. It also has given Herschel the opportunity to work hands-on with all aspects of the group’s business, which includes planning and hosting industry events such as the FMG Symposium.
He recently earned an MBA from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro and holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington.
