WKU in Owensboro hosting free family movie event Sept. 10

Western Kentucky University in Owensboro is inviting the community to their campus on Sept. 10 for “Big Red’s Movies on the Lawn.” The event will offer inflatables, food trucks, and a free double-feature of Finding Nemo and Jaws.

Gates will open at 5:30 p.m., offering free inflatables and food for purchase from local food trucks and vendors. Finding Nemo begins at 7:30 p.m. while Jaws begins at 9:30.

All activities will take place on the lawn. Everyone is encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. A rain date is scheduled for Sept. 16.

While the event is free, officials ask that people reserve their free tickets in advance to help with planning. Reservations can be made here.
