Church hosting youth trip to civil-rights sites, HBCUs


Mount Olive Baptist Church’s youth ministry will lead a “Sankofa Trip to the South” for students in middle and high schools Oct. 7-10, with registration due by Aug. 15.

The journey will include stops in Atlanta and Montgomery, visits to the National Memorial for Peace and Justice, Tuskegee University, Morehouse College and Spelman College, and a church service at Ebenezer Baptist Church. If the schedule allows, there will be a trip to the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Ala.

The cost is $700 and includes transportation, hotel accommodations and meals. A $100 non-refundable deposit is due with registration.
